I decided to study sociology years ago, believing that with my career I would be able to change the way we were living in our country. I finished and the I realized that I won’t be close to people. So, I changed my career when I went to the graduate school, I got a Master in Social Work (MSW).

This degree allowed me to be with different kind of people according to the project or program that I decided to work in. During my working years as a social worker, I worked in programs with children, battered women shelter, housing programs, school programs for special education children, and my last job was at a hospital where I worked with HIV patients for about 10 years.

All my jobs allowed giving some empowerment tools to my clients or people that I became in contact to. This process was gratifying for me and I hope helpful for them. Therefore, it contributed to some change in the world.
